Telehealth

About Therapy Online

Telehealth is not for everyone but can be a great way to fit therapy into your busy schedule, meet from rural areas, find the best therapist fit and overcome obstacles like illness and weather.

Clinicians providing telehealth at RCC have received appropriate training to do so in a confidential and effective manor. They are also aware of when telehealth may not be appropriate.

How do I participate in Telehealth?
  • Currently I provide telehealth through Simple Practice, a HIPAA compliant platform developed for telemedicine. It can be accessed by phone with an app download or via computer with a personalized link you will receive for each appointment.

Is Telehealth Covered By My Insurance?
  • Generally insurances cover telehealth, but there can be surprises. You will want to give your insurance company a call to make sure about your specific plan. Every once in awhile, we find that the copay charge to the client has an added fee for telehealth.

Can I participate In EMDR if I do Telehealth?
  • Absolutely! There are several ways to participate remotely that are equally effective as in person.

Does everyone qualify for Telehealth?
  • If you are considering telehealth, you will get additional information and paperwork with more detail, but telehealth might not be appropriate if you do not have a stable internet connection or private meeting place, if you require additional support due to being in crisis, or if you are working through certain mental health conditions that require in-person interventions or more thorough non-verbal observation.

Why would I chose telehealth?
  • You'll be participating in telehealth if you are unable to commute to Billings. Other reasons people have chosen telehealth are weather/transportation issues, feeling more grounded and comfortable at home, access to a provider that seems to be a better fit or with specific training that you have not found in your area, easier to meet in a busy schedule, and choice to stay home due to health barriers.
